So, I've mentioned to get into my early 30's without ever owning proper luggage. Most of my travels were by bus or train, so duffel bags always met my needs. This past holiday, though, I went on a delayed Honeymoon with my wife and decided I should finally get some real luggage like an adult. As it happens, a friend was just returning from a book tour around North America and was raving about the eBags EXO Hardside Spinner. I believe she just had the larger model, but the 2 piece set looked like a good deal so I ordered it up. Thanks to Amazon Prime I had in just a couple days and was ready for my trip.
This is a very nice luggage set. There aren't a lot of fancy pockets inside, but that was fine by me. There is one compartment with an adustable divider and then another compartment that is enclosed by zippered netting. There was a strap to secure the other compartment that worked quite well. The set comes with a TSA approved combination lock that was quite easy to set and use.
The real treat is what earns it the "Spinner" name. Each suitcase comes with 4 fully rotating wheels. This made the suitcase an absolute joy to roll around the airports, train stations, and hotels that made up our journey. The extending handle has two lock settings, which were quite useful. Fully extended is ideal for the traditional drag technique of pulling the suitcase behind you, while the shorter one was perfect for guiding the suitcase on all 4 wheels right next to you.
The color choices were especially welcome. I got mine in bright yellow and had no trouble spotting my luggage at the baggage claim.

I am so pleased with this new luggage, I can't wait to take more trips (and I hate flying). I had seen spinner-style suitcases in the airport and decided it was time to get a set, but I wanted to get just the right set, and I didn't want to spend too much, so I did some research. These bags are much lighter than you'd expect, nothing like the old-school hard style that the gorilla would throw around in commercials. They are actually lighter than my non-spinner soft-side pieces. Their wheels are large and handle a variety of terrain in and around airports and hotels. Inside, they have various sections, many of which are optional, for easy organization. I find I can fit much more in the littler size than I expected -- it was very easy to pack for a three-day weekend in just that very small carry-on. They are great, and I didn't break the bank to get them. Happy travels!

We purchased this set after checking the reviews of similar luggage on a number of different websites. Having been a customer of ebags for roughly 10 years, I have personal experience with their excellent customer/product support. I've taken the set on two cross-country trips with almost no signs of wear and tear. One of my favorite characteristics is the color. During on recent trip that resulted in a 6 hour layover in Dallas due to mechanical problems I arrived at my destination to find that my bag was not on my plane. I scanned the baggage claim area and noticed a collection of bags that had arrived on earlier flights that were unclaimed. Here's the beautiful part. I was able to spot my bag from nearly 50 yards away among the hundreds of bags waiting to be picked up. I'm not kidding. I left the airport with a huge smile on my face knowing that I would NEVER be left wondering: "Is that my black bag?"
