Overall I am pleased with the luggage, so much so we ordered another set. The purple is more of a purple/pink color, but the other set we ordered was the yellow one and it is true to the color in the photo. Very durable, YES, the will scratch and scuff but unfortunately that's just the way the airlines handle luggage nowadays. As long as the items inside are safe and sound it shouldn't matter.
My only complaint is when you first get them they have this plastic film on them that you need to peel off and it's really annoying to have to peel it cause it doesn't come off cleanly. However, it obviously doesn't affect the durability or functionality of the luggage, just a little annoyance thats all.

I bought these for a trip out of the country after having two different sets of soft-sided cases that didn't hold up. These cases are sturdy and easy to spot on the conveyor. I liked them so much I bought a second set for my wife.

Finally I have replaced my luggage and I love this set so much. Not only does it accomodate my 'everything goes' packing habit but it separates both sides securely and looks good too!! Definitely impressed and happy with the purchase because it survived its first week long trip to Mexico in checked baggage and made it home in perfect condition :-) And I did communicate with the seller of this item and they responded immediately, were very attentive and helpful.
